Contract Business Analyst

DV Cleared Defence Sector London Hybrid Outside IR35

Ncounter are hiring a DV Cleared Business Analyst to support a major Defence software delivery programme. This role suits someone who has worked in agile, client facing environments and can translate complex business needs into clear, concise and prioritised requirements for development teams.

You will work closely with engineers, testers, product leads and end users, shaping user stories, running refinement sessions and guiding teams through the delivery lifecycle. Strong communication skills are important as you will engage with senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities and ensure the team always has well structured functional requirements. The programme demands someone confident operating within secure Defence environments and experienced balancing business value, delivery constraints and user expectations.

Required skills and experience

  • Active DV clearance and recent Defence sector experience • Background delivering bespoke software as part of agile teams • Strong client facing consulting experience • Proven user story creation, backlog management and requirement refinement • Ability to speak with end users and translate needs into actionable requirements • Strong business process mapping and workshop facilitation skills • Effective stakeholder management with the confidence to challenge when needed • Clear written and verbal communication and strong teamwork skills
